The short answer
We install wallpaper in South Palm Beach condos and homes, handling measuring, wall prep, layout, hanging and cleanup. We coordinate with building management, recommend humidity-tolerant materials and keep the work quiet and tidy.
Paint is the default in most oceanfront units, which is exactly why wallpaper makes such a difference. A papered powder room, a patterned bedroom or a textured dining area turns a standard floor plan into something personal. South Palm Beach is about five miles northeast of WallEdge Installation's Boynton Beach base, and we hang wallpaper in condos and houses throughout the town. Below we explain what to expect, from the first measurement through the last trimmed edge, and how we adapt our work to building rules and the coastal climate.
Rooms that benefit most from wallpaper
In a condo, the powder room is the most popular place to start. It is small, has few windows, and guests use it, so a bold or playful paper gets noticed without overwhelming the home. Primary bedrooms are next, where a calm pattern or texture can make the space feel more finished. Dining areas and dens are good choices for owners who want more color or warmth.
Walk-in closets, laundry nooks and the inside backs of bookcases are smaller projects that still make a strong impression. For larger single-family homes in town, we also paper hallways, stairwells and home offices.
What we need from you, and what we take care of
A smooth project depends on a clear split of responsibilities. Here is how it usually breaks down:
- You choose the paper, with our input on material, pattern scale and roll count after we measure.
- You confirm building rules and reserve the service elevator if your association requires it.
- We provide contractor details management may request and work within posted hours.
- We protect floors, cabinets and furniture, and handle wall patching, sanding and priming.
- We plan pattern placement, hang and match each drop, and trim at every edge.
- We clean up, remove debris from the building, and walk the finished room with you.
Choosing paper for life by the ocean
South Palm Beach units sit close to the Atlantic, and many have balconies with large sliding doors. Opening those doors lets warm, damp air pour in, while the air conditioning works to dry and cool the space. Wallpaper responds to those changes, so material choice matters.
Nonwoven papers move very little with humidity, which keeps seams tight. Vinyl and vinyl-coated papers resist moisture and can be wiped down, a big plus in bathrooms and kitchens. Uncoated pulp papers and fabric-backed papers can look beautiful in interior rooms but are more sensitive. We can talk through options with your chosen pattern in hand.
Preparing condo walls
Walls in many coastal buildings are drywall over concrete, sometimes with a light texture. We remove switch plates, fill holes and cracks, sand texture where needed, and prime with a wallcovering primer that promotes adhesion and simplifies future removal. Walls that share a surface with the building's exterior get a moisture check, especially after summer storms.
If there is old wallpaper on the walls, we usually recommend removing it first. Layering new paper over old risks bubbles and visible seams.
Light, sightlines and pattern scale in a condo
Oceanfront units usually get bright, even light from one side and very little from the other. A paper that looks rich in the showroom can appear washed out on a wall facing the balcony glass, while the same design on an interior wall may read darker than expected. We suggest taping a large sample on the actual wall and checking it in the morning, at midday and with lamps on in the evening.
Sightlines matter too. In a long, open room you often see a wall from twenty or thirty feet away, so medium and large patterns hold together better than tiny prints, which can blur into a texture at that distance.
Pattern layout and finishing
We plan where the pattern starts based on the room's focal point, often a vanity mirror, a headboard or the wall facing the entry, and work outward so the final match point lands in an inconspicuous spot. Inside corners are wrapped and overlapped slightly, outside corners turned cleanly, and every edge is trimmed precisely at trim, cabinets and ceiling.
Most powder rooms and small bedrooms are finished in a day. Larger rooms and complex patterns may take longer. We also install wallpaper in Lantana, Manalapan, Hypoluxo, Lake Worth Beach and Atlantis.
