The short answer
WallEdge Installation travels about 18 miles northwest from Boynton Beach to serve Loxahatchee Groves. We install and remove wallpaper, repair walls and hang murals, grasscloth, vinyl and peel and stick in rural homes and small businesses.
Loxahatchee Groves is a rural town in western Palm Beach County, roughly 18 miles northwest of Boynton Beach, where WallEdge Installation keeps its shop. Out here, properties are spread out, homes range from newer builds to older houses that have been added onto over time, and the ocean is far enough away that salt air is not part of the conversation. Heat, summer storms and the occasional long power outage are. We plan Loxahatchee Groves jobs with all of that in mind, and we come prepared to finish the work in as few trips as possible.
Inland weather is its own challenge
Being away from the coast does not mean dry air. South Florida has a tropical climate with no truly dry season, and inland areas often feel the summer heat more intensely during the day. From May through October, afternoon thunderstorms build quickly over the western part of the county, and lightning and wind can knock out power.
For wallpaper, losing air conditioning for a day or two right after installation is the main risk. Without cooling, indoor humidity rises fast, paste cures unevenly and seams can open. During hurricane season, from June 1 to November 30, we watch the forecast closely and move dates when a storm could cut power. If your home has a generator that runs the AC, let us know; it gives us more scheduling flexibility.
The drier months from November into April are a comfortable window for large projects, though we take on work all year.
Homes that have grown over time
Rural properties are often expanded in stages: an addition here, a converted porch there, a garage turned into a bedroom or office. Each phase may have used a different wall material or finish. When we walk through, we look for:
- Joints where an addition meets the original house, which can crack or shift
- Converted porches or garages that may have less insulation and more temperature swing
- Paneling or textured finishes that need to be smoothed before paper can go on
- Signs of past roof or window leaks such as stains or soft drywall
- Concrete-block walls that may hold moisture after heavy rain
What we can do for your home or barn office
Our full range of services is available in Loxahatchee Groves. That includes careful wallpaper removal and wall preparation and repair, followed by new installations of traditional wallpaper, grasscloth and other natural textures, large murals and single accent walls. For kitchens, mudrooms and laundry rooms where boots and dirt come in from outside, vinyl wallcovering is easy to wipe clean. Ceiling wallpaper adds character to a great room or bedroom. Peel and stick suits guest cottages and spare rooms. Home-based businesses, offices and small commercial spaces can use commercial-grade wallcovering that stands up to regular use.
A converted outbuilding can work for wallpaper, too, as long as it is enclosed and climate controlled. Paper should never go on walls in a space that is not cooled, because the swings in temperature and humidity will break the bond.
Making the trip worthwhile
Since we are driving out from Boynton Beach, we try to get everything right on the first visit. We measure each wall, note door and window sizes, test existing surfaces and confirm the product you have chosen. That information lets us order the correct number of rolls and bring the specific primers and adhesives the job requires. On installation day, the van is fully stocked, and we schedule enough time to complete each room before we leave.
Other areas we serve nearby
Heading back toward the coast, we also work in Greenacres, Lake Clarke Shores, Atlantis, Lake Worth Beach and Lantana. If you are planning a project in Loxahatchee Groves, send us a description of the rooms and a few photos, and we will set up a measuring visit.
