Wallpaper Hanging Services in Lake Worth Beach

The short answer

WallEdge Installation hangs wallpaper in Lake Worth Beach homes and condos, covering prep, layout and installation. We adjust primer, adhesive and paper type to each room so the result stays tight through the humid months near the coast.

From colorful bungalows to newer condos near the water, Lake Worth Beach homes give wallpaper a lot to work with, and also a few challenges. Plaster walls, uneven corners, strong coastal humidity and rooms with lots of windows all affect how a paper should be chosen and hung. WallEdge Installation papers bedrooms, baths, dining rooms, kitchens and hallways throughout ZIP 33460. Our shop is in Boynton Beach, about 6 miles south, so the drive is short and scheduling is easy.

The kinds of homes we paper in Lake Worth Beach

Older cottages and bungalows often have plaster walls or drywall that has been patched many times. Plaster is solid and smooth when it is in good shape, but it can have hairline cracks and areas where earlier paper or paint has bonded unevenly. We repair and seal those spots before papering.

Ranch homes from the middle of the last century usually have drywall and sometimes concrete-block exterior walls, with long rooms that suit continuous patterns. Condos tend to have smooth, square walls but also building rules about noise, hours and access, which we plan around. Each type gets its own prep plan.

Picking the right paper for each room

Wallpaper is not one product. The right choice depends on how wet, busy and sunny a room is.

  • Non-woven papers: breathable, dimensionally stable, and easy to remove later, a strong choice for bedrooms and living areas
  • Solid vinyl or vinyl-coated papers: washable and moisture resistant, good for bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms
  • Traditional printed papers: beautiful detail, best in dry, low-traffic rooms
  • Specialty papers such as metallics, flocks and textures: dramatic, but each has its own handling rules
  • Grasscloth and natural weaves: textured and warm, best in air-conditioned rooms away from water

What installation looks like

We begin by protecting floors and moving lighter furniture away from the walls. Cover plates come off, and the power to outlets in the work area is switched off before we cut around them.

Next comes surface work: filling holes, sanding, sealing patches and, if needed, removing old paper. The walls are then primed with a wallcovering primer. Once the primer is dry, we snap a plumb line and plan where the pattern starts and where it will meet itself at the end of the room, usually in a low-visibility corner.

Strips are cut, pasted or hung paste-the-wall style depending on the product, then smoothed, matched and trimmed. We wipe seams clean as we go and do a final walk-around with a light to catch any bubble or lifted edge.

Coastal living and longer-lasting seams

Lake Worth Beach sits right on the coast, and the air carries moisture and salt for much of the year, especially through the wet season from May to October. Homes that open windows to catch the breeze see bigger swings in indoor humidity than homes that stay closed and air-conditioned.

Those swings cause paper to expand and contract slightly, and seams are where it shows. Using the correct adhesive for the product, priming properly, and keeping the AC on for the first few days after installation all reduce that movement. In bathrooms, a working exhaust fan is just as important as the paper itself.

Scheduling around storms

Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. If a named storm is heading toward Palm Beach County, we will reschedule rather than leave freshly hung paper curing in a house that may lose power and air conditioning. Outside storm threats, we work year-round.

The cooler, drier stretch from November into April is a popular time for larger projects, such as papering several rooms or a long hallway, because paste cures on a steady schedule and windows can stay shut without the house feeling stuffy. Booking a little ahead for those months helps you get the dates you want.

Other places we hang wallpaper nearby

Besides Lake Worth Beach, we regularly install in Lake Clarke Shores, South Palm Beach, Lantana, Atlantis and Hypoluxo. Send us photos of the room, rough wall measurements, and the paper you like, and we will outline the prep and timing.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see your question? Call (561) 834-7669 and we’ll talk it through.

Can you hang wallpaper on plaster walls?

Yes. Plaster in good condition is an excellent base. Cracks and loose areas are repaired and sealed before we hang.

Do you help figure out how many rolls to buy?

Yes. We measure the room and factor in the pattern repeat and the number of doors and windows.

Is wallpaper practical in a Florida kitchen?

With a washable vinyl or coated paper and good ventilation, wallpaper works well in kitchens, especially away from the stove backsplash.

What should I do before you arrive?

Clear small items and wall decor from the room, and let us know about any furniture too heavy to move.

How soon can I hang pictures again?

Give the paste a couple of days to cure, then hang art as usual. Using the old nail holes where possible keeps the paper clean.

Do you work in condos?

Yes, regularly. We plan around building schedules, elevator use and parking.

Planning a wallpaper project?

Tell us about the room, the paper you have in mind and the condition of the walls. We will set up a visit to measure and walk you through the scope.
