The short answer
WallEdge Installation does travel to Hillsboro Beach in Broward County, about 18 miles from our Boynton Beach base. We plan full-day visits for wallpaper removal, wall repair and installation of murals, grasscloth, vinyl and peel and stick products.
Hillsboro Beach sits on a slim strip of land between the Intracoastal and the Atlantic in northern Broward County. It is about 18 miles south of Boynton Beach, where WallEdge Installation is based, so a trip here is a planned day rather than a quick stop. We treat it that way. Materials are confirmed, measurements are double-checked and the van is loaded for the whole job, so that once we arrive the time goes into careful work on your walls instead of runs back for supplies.
Why a longer drive changes how we prepare
On a job farther from the shop, the measuring visit carries more weight. During that first appointment we take room dimensions, note ceiling heights, photograph outlets, vents and trim, and test a small area of any existing paper to see how it releases. That gives us what we need to order the correct number of rolls, including allowance for pattern match and trimming waste, and to bring the right primer and adhesive for the substrate.
When installation day comes, the plan is already written down. You know the start time, which rooms we will work in first and roughly when furniture can go back.
Coastal conditions on a barrier island
With water on both sides, Hillsboro Beach homes deal with damp air nearly all year. Our region has no truly dry season; even the cooler months from November to April bring humidity that would be considered high in most of the country. From May through October it climbs further, with daily storms and thick air that pushes into a home every time a door opens.
For wallcovering, the answer is steady indoor conditions and the right product. We prime with a sealer that resists moisture, use adhesives rated for the paper we are hanging and recommend that the AC keep running through the curing period. If a tropical system is approaching during the June 1 to November 30 hurricane season, we reschedule. Paper hung right before a power outage and a few days of trapped heat rarely cures well.
Projects Hillsboro Beach owners ask about
Requests here tend to lean toward finished, high-detail rooms. A few examples of the kinds of work we take on:
- Removing tired paper from a previous owner and resurfacing the walls before anything new goes up
- Grasscloth in a study or primary bedroom where texture softens a large, bright space
- A panoramic mural that runs across a living room wall facing the water
- Ceiling paper in an entry or dining area to draw the eye upward
- Durable vinyl in a cabana bath, mudroom or laundry space that sees wet feet and sandy towels
- Accent walls in guest suites that need a quick update before the season
- Peel and stick in rental units where the owner wants a removable option
Removal and repair come first
Many beachside homes have been redecorated several times, and each round tends to leave something behind: paste residue, torn drywall paper, spackle that was never sanded flat. New wallcovering shows every flaw underneath it, especially thin papers and metallic finishes in bright coastal light.
Our wall preparation work includes stripping old material, washing off residual adhesive, repairing gouges and soft spots, skim coating rough patches and applying a primer that gives the new paper something consistent to grip. It adds time, but it is the difference between a room that looks professionally finished and one where seams and bumps catch the eye.
Neighboring areas on our route
On our way down from Boynton Beach we also serve Delray Beach, Gulf Stream, Briny Breezes, Ocean Ridge and Hypoluxo. Commercial wallcovering is available for offices and shared spaces along the same route. To get started, share the rooms you want done and a few photos, and we will book a measuring appointment in Hillsboro Beach.
